What's blooming outdoors?

Finally, a few of the crocuses that survived the marauding squirrels in my block started peeking through the ground this week. I must have planted hundreds but these resourceful city rodents have managed to finagle their way to almost all of the crocuses. Sigh! Next year, I'll have to think of ways to protect the bulbs from ending up as tasty (and expensive...) treats for squirrels. With the recent drop in temperatures, I was also a little nervous with the tulips that have already started to send their foliage outwards. Will keep my fingers crossed:)
