Shofuso Japanese House and Garden

The Shofuso Japanese House and Garden within the grounds of Fairmount Park West is going to open for the season this weekend and I'm really excited to see it soon. This past weekend, I attended the first volunteers' briefing to familiarize myself with this beautiful house and garden. I am hoping to qualify to be a docent for Shofuso over the next few months. On Sunday, I stopped by again to take in the tranquility of the garden before the visitors start arriving for the season. It is impeccably well-maintained, all thanks to the Friends of the Japanese House and Garden and the team of dedicated gardeners and volunteers. Upcoming events include the cherry blossom festival or Sakura Sunday on April 9 and tea tastings featuring exotic Japanese green teas on weekends. So make sure you have these on your calendar and come on down then!
